"Almighty Father, I place the Precious Blood of Jesus before my lips before I pray, that my prayers may be purified, before they ascent to Your divine altar."- St. Mary Magdalene de Pazzi
August 20, 2005, another sleepless night with God
All Praise to You, Lord!
Praise be to You, Lord Jesus!
Thank You for everything You’ve done in my life.
I praise You, Jesus, You are marvelous and mighty.
You are my strength, my light, and my refuge.
You’ve breathed life back into my soul and given me direction in my weakness.
You are my hiding place and the One who shields me from harm.
Be My Shield, O Lord
Lord, I admit, I am not spiritually strong.
Help me, Jesus, to resist the forces of darkness.
In Your mighty name, I renounce every bondage and influence of evil.
Protect me, Jesus, from anything not of You.
Let Your light surround me and Your presence dwell within me.
I Surrender and Invite the Holy Spirit
Here I am, Lord.
When I came into this world, I was nothing, only naked and helpless.
Everything I have, my job, my wife, my children, they are not mine but Yours.
I offer my whole life back to You.
Send me Your Holy Spirit to work within me.
Let the will of the Father be done in my life.
Lord Jesus, cover me in Your love and the precious blood You shed on the cross.
Cleanse me, purify me, and make me whole again.
I Repent of All My Sins
Lord Jesus Christ, I am deeply sorry for all the ways I have offended You.
You died on the cross out of love for me, and too often I’ve neglected that love.
I come before You in repentance, offering even my pain.
I offer my sickness, and sorrow as a sacrifice of reparation.
Though I can make no promises, I ask for the grace of a repentant heart.
I humbly come to you with a holy fear of Your justice.
You, O Lord, are all-good and worthy of all my love.
I Forgive All Who Have Hurt Me
Jesus, I forgive everyone who has hurt me, both knowingly and unknowingly.
Though I hold no more hatred, I want to declare their names before You:
My grandmother, who once spoke painful words to me, rest her soul in peace.
My aunts and cousins, who lashed out offensive and hurtful words.
My mother and father, for the times I felt unloved.
My wife and children, for moments of misunderstanding.
My siblings, we’ve all failed each other at times.
My childhood playmates for the past hurts.
My Grade 1 teacher who physically and verbally hurt me.
My Grade 2 and 5 teachers, who made me feel small and unloved.
The seminary priest who ignored me, I now see my own pride in that situation.
A fellow seminarian whose animosity helped drive me away.
Bless him and others who survived and embraced priesthood.
My officemate I secretly cursed of his wrong-doing.
A difficult staff member who caused me stress and frustration.
The boss who treated others with favoritism.
Lord, I renounce all bitterness and unforgiveness in Jesus’ name.
Replace those wounds with Your peace and grace.
I Forgive Myself
Heavenly Father, I’ve also harbored resentment toward myself.
I now forgive myself, for my sins, my failures, and my doubts.
I let go of:
Greed
Envy
Lust
Sloth
Pride
Anger
Dishonesty
A lack of faith
Doubting Your power and mercy
In Jesus’ name, I renounce every bond of self-hate and shame.
Let me receive Your forgiveness, Lord, and embrace Your mercy over my life.
Scripture Reflection
As I opened my Bible, I was drawn to a powerful passage:
“Woe to those who go down to Egypt for help… But the Lord will rise up against the house of the wicked.” (Isaiah 31)
This reminded me that true strength doesn’t come from human help but from God. He is the One who fights for His people. He alone is Lord, and His jealousy is not out of insecurity, but divine love. The New Testament reinforces this: we are to love the Lord with all our heart, soul, mind, and strength.
Speak to Me, Lord
“Speak, Lord, for Your servant is listening.”
I sit here in silence, waiting to hear Your voice.
I trust that You will guide me in the way I should go.
In His Time Song
Interceding for Others
Lord, I lift up to You all those who are lost, broken, or in need of Your mercy.
Let them experience Your love, power, and glory.
Many carry burdens too heavy to bear, intervene in their lives, Father.
Draw them to repentance, and bring them into Your eternal light.
I Lay My Needs Before You
You know every need in my heart, Lord.
I ask not for riches or worldly gain, but for:
Your forgiveness
Your healing
A humble, obedient, childlike heart
The grace to know and feel Your love
Thank You, Lord Jesus
Thank You for everything:
My job
My wife and children
My parents and siblings
My supportive friends
This life You’ve given me
Thank You for Your mercy, Your cross, and Your promise of salvation.
Even my current sickness, I thank You for it, because it brought me back to You.
When I strayed, You lovingly drew me in again.
You are my only hope, my Redeemer, my Shepherd.
I turn to no one else but You.
Let my entire life be a testimony of Your goodness.
Let me love You, worship You, and praise You, all the days of my life.
Amen.
