Understanding the Question of God's Origin

The Eternal Nature of God
“Who created God?” This question has always haunted me and I know I’m not the only one. Philosophers, prophets, and seekers have wrestled with it for centuries.
My Struggle With the Question
I used to ask constantly: if everything has a beginning, then who or what began God? It felt like such a logical question. But I slowly began to see that the question itself was flawed. God was not born. God did not begin. God simply is.
“Asking who created God is like asking what came before eternity, it makes no sense, because eternity has no beginning.”
Imagining a Time Before Time
One thing that helped me was trying to imagine silence before the universe existed. No stars, no planets, no galaxies, just stillness. And yet even that stillness was alive with eternal consciousness. That consciousness is God, the source from which everything flows.
What This Means for My Soul
if God is eternal, then so is my soul. My soul didn’t start when I was born, and it won’t end when I die. Who I really am is beyond time. This realization shifted the way I see myself, fragile, yes, but also eternal and connected to the same spark that lit creation.
The Real Question I Now Ask
I’ve stopped asking “Who created God?” Instead, I ask: How do I awaken to the God already within me? For me, the answer lies in stillness, prayer, compassion, and remembering that every soul carries that eternal flame.
My Final Reflection
Today, if someone asks me, “Who created God?” I would simply say: God was not created. God is. And because God is eternal, so am I, and so are you. That thought makes me less afraid, more grateful, and more willing to forgive. The question was never just about origins, it was about awakening to the eternal that is already within us.
