The Early Years: The Birth of a Visionary
Steven Paul Jobs was born on February 24, 1955, in San Francisco, California, to two university students, Joanne Schieble and Abdulfattah Jandali. Adopted shortly after birth by Paul and Clara Jobs, Steve grew up in Cupertino, California, an area that would later become synonymous with Silicon Valley. His adoptive father, a machinist, instilled in him a love for craftsmanship and attention to detail, while his mother was an academic who encouraged his intellectual curiosity.

Health Crisis
In 2004, while still in the prime of his career, Steve Jobs was diagnosed with a rare form of pancreatic cancer known as a pancreatic neuroendocrine tumor. Jobs kept the diagnosis a secret for several years, and his health began to decline in the mid-2000s. Despite his illness, he continued to work at Apple, famously holding his position as CEO through several critical product launches.
In 2009, Jobs took a medical leave of absence to undergo a liver transplant. He returned to Apple in 2010, but it was clear his health was deteriorating. In August 2011, Jobs resigned as CEO, handing over the reins to Tim Cook. Just a few months later, on October 5, 2011, Jobs passed away at the age of 56.
