POEM AND RHYMES: A FLEETING GLIMPSE OF MY LITTLE BUD
I Saw My Baby In School from a Distance

As I made my way to an out-of-office assignment, I found myself in a taxi, my thoughts drifting toward the usual list of daily tasks. But as we passed my five-year-old daughter’s school, something shifted inside me. I saw her, her small frame by the gate, standing quietly beside her nanny, waiting for a ride.
The taxi paused briefly at a stoplight, and in that fleeting moment, I caught a glimpse of her. My heart ached with a sudden longing to step out, hold her close, and forget everything.
At work, I keep my personal life to myself. I go about my tasks quietly, not seeking recognition or praise. Yet there were days when I feel close to giving up, worn down by exhaustion or misjudged by others. But when I think of my daughters, I find my footing again. I took care of the three of them by myself, as their mom left to work overseas. This life, this effort, is no longer about me, it’s about them.
As I sat at my desk after returning to office that day, her image stayed with me, that sight of her by the gate, stirred an overwhelming urge to put my feelings into words.
So I made this poem for her.
I've spent half my life within these walls Yet, seldom felt whenever my work calls My life isn't like an open book to be told Though years slip by, it remains untold I was out from office to do my daily grind Then I saw her face that got stuck in mind My heart leaps for joy, it's hard to contain A strong blow, it strucks harder than pain Her face, the sweetest I could ever know My little angel whose innocent eyes glow A moment pure, blooms with simple grace A breath from heaven, sparks up the place It was only yesterday, she made a tiny sigh A quiet bud that crawls under a watchful sky Look how big she's grown, with such a charm Just a sight of her, keeps all my worries calm
